WP 6 - SoA and MDA middleware
This work package will apply Service Oriented and Model Drive Architecture middleware and techniques to AmI systems. To identify technology requirements from the user requirements specifications, a variation of Quality Attribute Workshops (QAW) will be used. The user requirements specifications developed in WP 2 points to a number of generic requirements and quality attributes of the overall middleware architecture that will be analysed. This description will be used as input to a Quality Attribute Workshop. In the workshop, scenarios representing quality attributes and requirements are analyzed and prioritized to identify important quality attributes, clarify system requirements and expose interdependence and tradeoffs in requirements and quality attributes for the planned prototypes. The Quality Attribute Workshop task results in a set of prioritized and refined scenarios that the prototypes should support.
Based on the scenarios and research, a design for a prototype platform will be developed and a UML description of the software architecture and communication framework for the service delivery will be constructed. It also involves prototyping new sensors, devices and terminals, to be used in the user scenarios.
