Hydra is affilliated with the following programs and organisations:

The Hydra coordinater FhG FIT is a member of ARTEMISIA, the association for R&D actors in the field of ARTEMIS: Advanced Research & Technology for EMbedded Intelligence and Systems.

The Hydra middleware allows developers to create inclusive applications with a high degree of accessibility for all. The Hydra project supports the Commissions campaign: eInclusion - be part of it!

The Hydra project is part of the Cluster of European projects on the Internet of Things. The Cluster aims to promote a common vision of the Internet of Things.

The Hydra project is co-funded by the European Commission within the Sixth Framework Programme in the area of Networked Embedded Systems under contract IST-2005-034891

WP 8 - Prototypes and system integration

This RTD workpackage deals with the continued integration of all the parts of the HYDRA middleware as well as the technical testing of its functionality. The installation and population of user domain data will be undertaken in the WP 9 – User applications, and the validation of its performance and applicability to user requirements will be undertaken as part of WP 10 – Validation & business modelling. System integration, testing and validation will take place in each of the three iterative validation cycles in the research and development phase in line with the HYDRA methodology.

The integration and test planning process will take place in the beginning of WP 8 and involve:

  1. Development of a test plan and testing of individual components
  2. Development of an integration plan

The test plan is the basis for the testing process. It formalises a set of actions including any procedure, process, equipment, material, activity or system that will help to understand whether the system performances meet the required specifications and quality attributes. The integration plan describes how the different software modules, subsystems and systems developed in HYDRA will be integrated into a common middleware so that they can easily interoperate.

Integration of system components will be performed in M12, M24 and M36, including testing of functionality, usability, robustness and sustainability. The results will be validated according to the validation criteria and needs for adjustments of the project user requirements specifications and design specifications will be determined.

At the end of the workpackage, the entire HYDRA system will be made ready for the final demonstration and exploitation.
